Terms of service

Simple terms for using ThermalTrace (website, PWA, and Android app). Last updated August 29, 2026.

The service

ThermalTrace provides dashboards, history, alerts, and integrations for temperature and related sensor data you connect, via the website, Progressive Web App, and the Android companion app. Features depend on your plan (Free, Member, Pro). We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical.

Clients & devices

The Android app and PWA are clients for your ThermalTrace account. They do not replace probe hardware: temperature and humidity come from sensors or feeds you configure. Optional push alerts (browser Web Push and Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android) require a Pro plan where noted and depend on OS/network delivery outside our control.

Your account

You are responsible for credentials, device keys, and household invites you create. Keep ingest keys private. Do not abuse the APIs, scrape aggressively, or attempt to access other users’ data. We may suspend accounts that threaten service stability or other customers.

Your data & sensors

You own the readings and configuration you submit. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data to run the product (charts, alerts, exports, backups, push delivery). See the privacy policy for retention and deletion. You are responsible for how you place sensors and for acting on alerts. ThermalTrace is a monitoring aid, not a life-safety or building-code compliance system.

Billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Fees, trials, and cancellations follow the checkout and customer portal flows. The Pro trial is free; cancel before it ends and you are not charged. After conversion to a paid plan, the current billing period is generally non-refundable. Taxes may apply. Failure to pay may reduce your account to Free limits.

Open source & trademarks

Application source may be available under its repository license. The ThermalTrace name and branding are ours; using the software does not grant trademark rights.

Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant uninterrupted uptime or that alerts will always arrive before damage occurs. To the fullest extent allowed by law, ThermalTrace and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including property loss from freeze, heat, flood, or outage). Our total liability for a claim is limited to fees you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim.
